Arrowroot Starch

Arrowroot Starch, also known as arrowroot powder, acts as a perfect grain-free substitute for corn and wheat-based flour. It is extracted from the roots of the arrowroot plant Maranta arundinacea. This starch has a neutral flavor and can be used as a thickening agent for gluten-free baking, sauces, and gravies. It can also be used as a vegan egg replacer: mix 1 Tbsp arrowroot starch with 1 Tbsp vegetable oil and 1/4 cup of water (equivalent to one egg).
