The Best Tahini Mustard Dressing You'll Ever Taste

The Best Tahini Mustard Dressing You'll Ever Taste

Tahini is a popular Middle Eastern and Mediterranean ingredient known for its nutty flavor and creamy texture. It's often used as a dip for bread or as a key component in dishes like hummus, baba ghanouj and taratour.

However, tahini can also be easily modified to create different flavors and consistencies. By adding water and other flavor enhancers, it can be transformed into a versatile dressing, such as a lemon-based or a maple mustard-infused version.

What’s In This Mustard Tahini Dressing?

The key ingredients in this sweetened mustard tahini dressing include tahini, Dijon mustard, maple syrup, lemon juice, water, and garlic.

Tahini: For the tahini, you can either make your own at home using a simple recipe or purchase it from a store.

Dijon mustard: Make sure you’re using Dijon mustard and not regular yellow mustard.

Maple Syrup / Sweetener: You can also substitute the maple syrup with honey or date syrup if you prefer.

Lemon Juice: Freshly squeezed lemon juice is ideal for the small amount needed.

Water: To achieve the desired consistency, add 3 to 4 tablespoons of water and adjust to taste.

Garlic: Finally, a single clove of garlic adds a noticeable depth of flavor.

INGREDIENTS & MEASURMENTS:

1/4 cup tahini
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey or Date Syrup
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3 to 4 tablespoons water, or more for a thinner consistency
1 garlic clove, minced
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Mix all the ingredients together to get the best sauce ever.

This recipe makes approximately 2/3 cup of dressing.

Tip: For a thinner dressing, add one more tablespoon of water into the mix, then another if needed!
